Overview of Position
This position is responsible for working with our internal team, vendors, manufacturers, and customers to ensure the success of our IP network-based products and IoT solutions as well as support new product development and innovation. This role will ensure the highest level of technology is being designed and deployed for both new and existing installations to ensure the best customer experience possible.
Members of the Technology Team are the technical experts on every product we use in our solutions. The Network Engineer is that technical expert who will work directly with multiple stakeholders before new products are released to ensure all products are vetted, tested, and taken through our New Product Introduction process.
What You'll Own
- Be the technical owner of various IP network capabilities of various technologies including:

Wired and wireless network infrastructure, video surveillance, access control, and voice communication systems plus any new networking products that enhance our solutions
- Continuously look for ways to improve the cost, function, efficiency, and delivery of the existing solutions
- Design and configure Network Management and Control systems
- Strong knowledge of front-to-back network infrastructure including routing, switching, configuring VLANS and PANS, managed WiFi, GPON/EPON, CMTS systems, and PtP / PtMP data transmission
- Own the New Product Introduction process for all new and existing networking-related products
- Develop well-documented training processes and train our internal and external team members
- Work with the Technology Team to continuously improve the outcome and efficiency of the New Product Introduction process
- Strategically align technology projects with business priorities
- Research new technologies and products to ensure Groove is always providing the best solutions at the best value to our customers

- At least 8-10 years of experience in IP networking and WiFi distribution systems
- Education and Industry /Vendor certifications supporting network and infrastructure knowledge
- Experience with different brands of wired/wireless networking vendors (Ruckus, Aruba, and Meraki)
- Must have experience with Ekahau wireless software
- Familiar with Microsoft Visio
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Be available for occasional travel across the U.S.
- A potential remote location near Midvale, UT, or Raleigh, NC is preferred
