PROJECT or STAFF CIVIL ENGINEER
Work in a fast developing rural area of Oklahoma. Fast paced client centered practice in business for over 20 years. Looking for an aggressive and dedicated engineer to serve municipal and rural utility clients. Diverse client base including governmental agencies, Tribal governments and rural water systems. Performs a variety of professional civil engineering duties in the preparation of engineering design, plans and specifications for Client projects in a fast paced, client-centric environment. Project types include roadways, streets, parking lots, drainage, potable water, sanitary sewer and other infrastructure. Assists senior engineer or project manager by performing engineering design tasks.
Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise, and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies. Employees at this level are to be self- motivated to acquire knowledge to possess a specialized technical or functional expertise within the area of assignment or may exercise supervision over assigned lower level staff.
REPORTS TO
This position reports to a higher level engineer or manager.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Performs a variety of professional civil engineering duties in the design, and development of design documents for various project types as assigned.
2. Prepares engineering drawings, sketches, specifications, calculations and analyses for new or proposed projects; develops design details and reports.
3. Prepares preliminary engineering design quantity take-offs to aid in preparation of cost estimates and other information for management and project review.
4. Reviews approved project criteria for existing facilities; compiles, researches and analyzes data for modifications to existing facilities.
5. Provides engineering design support to other design team members.
6. Utilizes a variety of engineering software programs and applications including Autodesk Civil 3D and business software such as Microsoft WORD and EXCEL.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
Principles and practices of civil engineering design.
Materials and construction methods utilized in civil engineering projects.
Methods and techniques of field measuring and testing related to civil engineering construction.
Terminology, methods, practices, and techniques used in technical engineering report preparation.
Construction methods and practices.

Familiarity with or capability to learn specialized computer programs or systems utilized in engineering project design including CADD and other design software.
Ability to research and learn related codes, regulations and provisions.
Related Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations.
Skill in:
Performing a variety of professional civil engineering duties.
Applying principles and practices of civil engineering in assigned projects.
Preparing engineering designs and construction documents.
Performing accurate engineering calculations.
Preparing clear and concise reports.
Understanding and following oral and written instructions.
Communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
License or Certificate:
Ability to obtain registration as an Engineering Intern or Professional Engineer.
Other Requirements:
Must be physically able to conduct field inspections as assigned.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
