SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES : The Sr. Cloud Developer role will provide information technology (IT) solutions related to all PWC applications. The Sr. Cloud Developer serves as a technical expert and solutions developer for all PWC applications including implementation, creation, enhancement, and troubleshooting efforts. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. A primary responsibility for this position is a focus on improving the design, development, coding, testing, and application programming that goes into creating high-quality software and new products.
The Sr. Cloud Developer will collaborate with the business to develop technical design documents from the functional specification documents and configure, develop, or configure the software to meet the requirements for those projects. The Sr. Cloud Developer will also be expected to stay familiar with current trends, technologies, future releases, and capabilities for the entire technology stack for PWC Enterprise systems. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, implementing the organization's cloud strategy from a technical perspective, including design, planning, integration, maintenance, and support of cloud architecture. Drives the roll-out of cloud management platforms, evaluates their performance, and implements enhancements. Supporting the infrastructure team in tasks related to environment patching, data management, code management, deployment, and software security. Has the ability and initiative to work independently and accepts accountability for project results. Participates in design walkthroughs and offers constructive feedback to improve the quality of the software product. Review recommend and implement technological opportunities relevant to departmental and enterprise needs. This role can be on-site or remote with some travel to the home office, events, and training. Extended hours and on-call availability are required.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Through knowledge and understand of DevOps Methodologies and best practices
- Knowledge of and experience with any cloud providers including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or Azure architecture, tools, and cloud methodologies
- Knowledge and experience in software development practices, following the System Development Life Cycle methodology to produce efficient, maintainable, value-adding application products
- Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Services such as Oracle Integration Cloud Service is a plus
- Skilled in the use of automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
- Skilled with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java or PL/SQL
- Ability to design and implement DevOps solutions that enable continuous integration, delivery, and deployment
- Ability to design interfaces with third-party systems
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
- Ability to develop and maintain documentation, including technical specifications and user manuals, for cloud based solutions.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors, contractors, the public, and all levels of employees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (either)
(A) Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field and a minimum of eight (6) years of progressively responsible application development
(B) Graduation from an accredited two (2) year community/technical college with an Associate’s Degree in computer technology, information systems technology, or related field and a minimum of twelve (10) years of progressively responsible experience as defined in (A) above; OR
(C) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and a minimum of sixteen (12 ) years of progressively responsible experience as defined in (A) above; OR
(D) An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience as defined in (A), (B), and (C) above.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
SAFETY HAZARDS: Minimal.
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: As required in the Public Works Commission’s Safety Manual.
