POSITION SUMMARY
The Integrity Engineer will focus on Managing Relief Device testing schedules and testing documentation throughout North Dakota (ND) within Plant Condition Monitoring Software (PCMS) as well as PCMS database management for the Mechanical Integrity program. Secondary focus will be on management of mechanical integrity threats and the fire tube inspection program. The position is located in our Tioga, ND office.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and track compliance through regular operating rhythms.
-
Monitor testing intervals in accordance with industry standards, current regulations, as well as Hess Standards for all Relief Device throughout ND’s midstream and upstream assets. Make recommendations for changes to inspection intervals based upon performance history.

Front line accountability for Relief Device testing and inspection compliance (PSM, DOT, etc.).

Provide guidance on Relief Devices testing requirements throughout the asset.
- When Relief Devices are suspected to be problematic, conduct root cause analysis (RCA) according to business rules, and confirm implementation and effectiveness of countermeasures.

Provide input and evaluation for capital projects and proper Management of Change when Relief Devices are involved.

Provide leadership and/or guidance as required to deliver major interventions and countermeasures for non-routine, reactive activities. Liaise with Production Engineering, Process Engineering, Integrity Engineering, Reliability Engineering, and Reliability Operators to ensure alignment with affected systems.

When there are PCMS inspection or testing schedule changes, advise on yearly and monthly budgets.
- Manage inspection/testing deferral process for relief devices that cannot be tested by their defined due dates. Coordinate with Operations and Process Engineering to perform risk assessments and ensure appropriate mitigations are in place.

Provide 'boots on the ground' support when needed to gather failure data and ensure appropriate countermeasures are taken.

Oversight and implementation of quality assurance practices to improve relief device test event data and equipment information within PCMS/SAP.

Review/approve Relief Device testing reports provided by contract inspectors or testing companies.

Redirect contract inspectors/testers as required for additional data capture.

Drives embedment of Hess safety procedures, best practices and standard work as defined by the expectation of a safety leader. This includes ensuring compliance with company safety policies and procedures, as well as, lead, perform, and/or participate in 5S, accident investigation, safety audits and related activities.

Audit contract testing crews’ certifications and make regular shop visits.

Work with Master Data team to ensure alignment between PCMS and SAP. Submit M9 notifications as required to ensure equipment information and test schedules are aligned.

Support the Integrity Engineering Team through PCMS queries for MI equipment testing and inspection schedules as needed.

Support the Integrity Engineering Team’s KPI updates and tracking as well as support preparations needed for the VP Quarterly Integrity Reviews.

Help develop PM plans, SWIs, Repairs and Spares strategies, etc. for Relief Devices.

Provide support for management of Integrity Threats in accordance with Company guidelines. Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure integrity threats have proper risk assessments completed and action plans in place to mitigate risks.
- Oversee fire tube inspection program for vertical/horizontal treaters located within upstream assets including development of schedules for PdM scans and key performance indicators.

Implement new technology through pilot programs to improve fire tube reliability (Risk based inspections, cathodic protection, material/coating improvements, etc.).
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
-
At least 5+ years of experience in oil & gas or related industry experience
-
Prior knowledge of PCMS and SAP Software
-
Strong knowledge and understanding of the inspection and repair practices for pressure-relieving devices commonly used in the oil and petrochemical industries
-
Working knowledge of API 576, 520, 510, 521, 526, 527, NBIC, ASME Sec VIII, and ASME Sec I as it pertains to Relief Devices

Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office, SAP)

Strong written and verbal communications skills

Strong analytical and technical skills with attention to detail and process improvements

Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision in a diverse, multidiscipline team environment

Ability to manage activities for multiple projects in parallel while effectively managing time and resources required
Education, Training & Certifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

Preferred: Licensed Professional Engineer

Preferred: API 510 certified
