Structural Engineer
We are a growing structural engineering consulting firm and market leader in the design of mixed-use, multi-family residential, commercial, retail, residential, hospitality and industrial buildings. We are seeking qualified Structural Project Engineers with 2 to 5 years of experience in designing post-tensioned concrete buildings. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for designing post-tensioned concrete buildings and podium slabs under the direct supervision of a Senior Structural Engineer. You will also have opportunities to design other material types, including structural steel, timber and masonry. Our projects are generally located in the Southeastern U.S., but we have completed projects in all geographic regions of the country. Some travel may be required. Responsibilities:
With the guidance of a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing structural analysis/design models using RAM Structural Systems software
- Designing post-tensioned concrete slabs and beams
- Designing concrete columns, shear walls and foundations
- Preparing design calculations using software and performing hand calculations
- Assisting with preparation of construction drawings
- Presenting analysis/design results to Senior Engineer
- Ensuring that design complies with building code and code-referenced standards
Qualifications and Skills: B.S. degree in Civil Engineering with Structural Emphasis (M.S. degree preferred)
- 2 to 5 years of experience in designing post-tensioned concrete structures
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals
- Up-to-date knowledge of International Building Code, ACI-318 and AISC Manual of Steel Construction
- Advanced skills in RAM Structural Systems software, including: Ram Concept for analysis & design of elevated concrete slabs/beams and mat foundations. Ram Elements for analysis & design of steel structures
- Proficiency with written and verbal communication skills
