The Design Engineer works with the Engineering team to develop and sustain residential and/or commercial HVAC-related products. Designs, analyzes, and documents new or existing products from the requirements provided. Creates and sustains specifications using engineering analysis and judgment. Oversees the development and testing of engineering prototypes. Communicates and coordinates with vendors to obtain information and assistance. Responsibilities
- Concept designs
- CAD modeling 3D and 2D Layouts by using Creo or Solid Edge
- Capability of Design for Manufacturability
- Ensure Fit and Form of new and existing design
- New and existing product design for HVAC products
- Support Engineering change from BOM and drawings standpoint
- Tolerance Stack up analysis
- Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems
- Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery using computer-assisted equipment
- Manage the resolution of CAD related issues and tasks
- Revise, edit, and update changes to drawings based on revised sketches, notes, drawings, and verbal instruction
- Troubleshoot/problem solve on constructability/design issues
- Participate in additional projects to support ongoing business needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in CAD or Mechanical Design Engineering
- 1 – 5 years sheetmetal / product design experience
- Broad product design engineering knowledge
- Proficiency in Creo and up (Pro-sheet metal, Pro-piping and Solid modeling) or Solid Edge and up (sheet metal, xpress route and Solid modeling) required.
- Experience with HVAC or refrigeration a plus.
- Experience in product design and engineering change process
- Experience in manufacturing and fabrication methods
- Experience with Bill of Material structures
- Good mechanical design and hands-on background
- Fluent in dimensioning and tolerance stack up analysis

Pay: $80,000.00 - $91,000.00 per year
