The Controls Engineer will perform commissioning duties, develop new and modify existing electrical systems, PLC, HMI programs, safety systems, industrial control systems and provide support for tablet presses and other related equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Control Systems Design & Integration for the Table Press Division including, but not limited to: programming and hardware selection.
* PLC and HMI configuration and program, commission , specification and troubleshoot.
* AC, DC and servos-drives and motors: configure, commission, specify and troubleshoot.
* Control and Safety systems: configure, commission , specify and troubleshoot.
* Support service group as needed, troubleshoot customer issues with installed presses.
* Assist in developing product manuals and documentation.
* Maintaining compliance with various electrical industry and safety standards like NEC, NPPA 79, UL and CE.
* Maintain regulatory compliance with various agencies including the FDA.
* Work with Mechanical Engineering in Press Design.
* Assist in the quoting process for retrofits of Natoli and other tablet presses.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
* Rockwell's Studio 5000 is our current standard. Legacy Rockwell developments and other development experiences are desirable.
* Indusoft 2020 and Factory talk are preferred HMI developments. Other development experience is desirable.
* Thorough knowledge of electrical engineering principles
* Ability to read electrical schematics.
* Experience with safety systems preferred.
* Experience with high speed data acquisition systems preferred. Our current standard is HBM, PMX for strain gauge and load cell.
* Windows OS and ethernet communications.
* SQL Database development & reporting is a bonus.
* Ability to troubleshoot Legacy hardware.
Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology preferred.
* Trade School/Associates degree paired with work experience will also be considered.
