Stein Seal Company is a growing Manufacturing company that services the commercial and government aerospace industries, as well as the nuclear and power generation industries. Stein Seal is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer that will be responsible for supporting all manufacturing operations while driving continuous improvement using lean manufacturing principals. This position will deal directly with all levels of manufacturing and is responsible for the job functions listed below.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot manufacturing issues
- Develop highly capable manufacturing processes for new products
- Revise existing processes to minimize risk
- Design new fixturing and /or gages
- Create 2D and 3D drawings (AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor)
- Oversee the verification of processes meeting the requirements of Engineering drawings
- Actively participate in team-based problem solving and continuous improvement activities
- Develop, evaluate, and implement employee suggestions and employee driven continuous improvement activities
Requirements
- Knowledge and experience with Lean manufacturing desired
- Structured problem-solving skills
- CAD experience, Autodesk desired
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
- Tolerance stack up analysis
- An understanding of non-machining processes such as plating, coatings, welding and brazing
- Understanding the complexities of 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC Machining
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Manufacturing experience and /or machining experience desired
- Excellent mechanical aptitude
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in either Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering and /or experience as a machinist
- Minimum 3 years of experience in developing processes for the machining of various metallic or composite components
