We are currently seeking a self-motivated, senior structural engineer to design, document and manage projects and potentially personnel with minimal oversight, from schematic phase to construction administration. Candidate must possess excellent communication skills, detailing and documentation skills. 15+ years’ experience with wood framing design of multi-family buildings and commercial/retail steel framed buildings is a requirement.
Senior Structural Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing structural engineering calculations, structural drawings and details (i.e. construction documents)
- Signing and sealing documents as SOR (Structural Engineer of Record).
- Performing construction administration services including shop drawing review, site visits for structural review and completing field reports.
- Researching structural building products and building code items/issues.
- Meeting with and directing staff on documentation of structural construction documents.
Knowledge and experience with wood framing design aides such as WoodWorks or forte software and steel & concrete design software programs (RISA or RAM) are required. Proficiency with AutoCAD is a requirement and working knowledge of Revit is a plus.
P.E. licensure in PA, and client coordination experience are requirements.
Management experience is highly desired.
