ST Equipment & Technology (STET) is the developer of a proprietary separation technology used to process dry powders such as fly ash, mineral ores, food and animal feed materials, by charging and separating particles using electrostatics. STET is a part of Titan America group.
STET has developed a unique technology which requires no chemicals or water to process and upgrade various powders and bulk solids, and hence it offers a greener, environmentally friendly alternative to conventional processes. STET has developed several joint ventures with Titan America, to apply the technology in beneficiating fly ash generated by coal-fired power plants. This allowed the product ash, called ProAsh, to be used in high-value concrete applications, rather than being disposed of in landfills, and also reduced the carbon footprint of the concrete. In addition, STET has developed and commissioned plants processing industrial minerals such as calcium carbonate, talc, and barite, to improve the quality of these materials using its low-cost, low-emissions technology.
STET’s mission is to be a global leader of sustainable, environmentally-sound, cost-effective and reliable solutions that enable the process industries to extract valuable products from feed and waste streams, in a manner that is water-free, emissions-free and low in carbon footprint.
STET has successfully demonstrated its patented electrostatic separation technology in non-food areas, particularly the fly ash and industrial minerals industries. STET is now actively developing new applications for this technology in the food and animal feed sector working on materials such as oil seed meals, dried distillers grain, pulses etc. Learn more at www.steqtech.com.
Position Overview
STET seeks a creative and dynamic engineer to support development of new applications for STET tribo-electrostatic separation technology. The Process Engineer – Food & Feed position will identify and develop new applications of the STET tribo-electrostatic separation technology in the processing of human and animal food ingredients, and agricultural by-products.
This position will manage bench-scale and pilot-scale testing at STET test facilities to develop customer projects as well as assist in R&D for new applications for STET. The position is located in Needham, MA, close to Boston.
This multi-faceted position will report to Manager, Process Engineering and will have responsibilities which include:
- Developing, advancing, and implementing the STET electrostatic separation process for processing of food and animal feed materials.
