FEMA PA-TAC Civil Engineer Requirements
FEMA PA-TAC Civil Engineers support the FEMA Public Assistance (PA) program through infrastructure planning, design, and building management post-disaster for recovery projects such as buildings, roads, railways, airports, bridges, harbours, dams, irrigation projects, power plants, and water and sewerage systems.
Specific Duties Include:
- Providing technical, cost estimating, and disaster recovery project management services
- Monitoring construction work to ensure compliance with approved SOWs, PA policies, and procedures
- Providing reporting and management capabilities (i.e., quality assurance/quality control, data collection, technical writing)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Civil Engineering undergraduate / graduate degree
- 2 years in field of expertise or 5 years in field of expertise
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be able to pass a background check to obtain a FEMA Badge (Existing FEMA Badge preferred)
- Ability to deploy to disaster area within 48 hours of notice
- Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Strong administrative and organizational skills with fastidious attention to detail
- Proven ability to support multiple projects and tasks at once, and effectively prioritize in a fast-paced work environment to meet deadlines
- Ability to work professionally, effectively, and efficiently in a team environment with various stakeholders
- Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Strong administrative and organizational skills with fastidious attention to detail
- Proven ability to support multiple projects and tasks at once, and effectively prioritize in a fast-paced work environment to meet deadlines
- Ability to work professionally, effectively, and efficiently in a team environment with various stakeholders
- FEMA Public Assistance experience is required. Please do not apply if you do not have FEMA Public Assistance experience as a former FEMA employee or consultant to FEMA.

- Project Management Certification (i.e., PMP)
- Lean Six Sigma Certification

- 0869 Public Assistance Program Delivery Management (10-day course) (https://training.fema.gov/emicourses/schedules.aspx – search for “0869” for course schedule.
Average Duration Per Task Order:
- Six (6) months to one (1) year
Location of Work:
- FEMA Joint Field Office (JFO)/ Joint Recovery Office (JRO), in Florida. Remote telework, video-teleconference may be the primary means of communications until approved for in-person work in the JFO/JRO.
Job Types: Temporary, Contract, Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
