An ISO 9001:2015-certified company, BIRNS focuses on total customer satisfaction and is seeking an energetic and experienced “hands-on” Manufacturing Engineer- Electromechanical (ME-E).
The ME-E plans, designs, sets up and optimizes our Termination and Assembly manufacturing processes so that goods are produced in a process-controlled and cost-effective manner, delivering zero-defect products, on time, for total customer satisfaction. The ME-E is responsible for designing efficiency, cost-effectiveness, environmental and safety controls into each process. Our ME-E designs, develops, tests, and evaluates integrated systems for managing industrial manufacturing processes including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination.
Our ME-E is responsible for writing detailed Work Instructions and Operational Procedures for all BIRNS Termination and Assembly operations. Reporting to the Production Manager, the ME-E teams with our Engineering and Quality leadership to continuously improve production processes in our facility.
Pay for this position is negotiable, and is based on demonstrated experience and skill.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (BS) in manufacturing or industrial or electrical engineering from a technical college or university, and ten years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with electrical and optical termination is required.
Experience with complex wire harness production is particularly helpful.
Experience with wiring/J-STD-001/IPC-610/WHMA-A-620-A is helpful.
Proficiency in 5S, Lean, and SPC is strongly desired.
Other certifications or training such as Six Sigma or similar is strongly preferred but not required. ANSI/TIA/EIA-455 experience is a plus.
