Summary:
Develop efficient processes to manufacture core components utilizing aerospace engineering standards to meet engineering drawing requirements and specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Understand and interpret engineering drawings, process specifications, and design intents.
- Understand the properties of all types of honeycomb material including metallic and non-metallic types.

Understand and evaluate manufacturing processes for adherence to internal and external requirements.
- Identify opportunities and support implementation of Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for nonconforming materials or processes.
- Generate engineering process instructions and sketches to ANSI standards.
- Develop manufacturing processes and train production personnel.

Communicate (both written and verbal) and interact with external and internal customers in a professional manner.
- Utilize VISUAL ERP System to log and maintain BOM with current and up-to-date information.
- Understand and interpret 3D models.
- Understand and interpret geometric tolerance, design intent, primary design features, and tolerance stack up.

Generate sketches and validate dimensions utilizing CATIA software.

Provide engineering support for existing programs, as needed.

Perform material and process R&D as assigned or as needed to establish production manufacturing processes.

Drive all programs to meet and exceed company expectations for quality, cost, and schedule requirements.

Maintain high visibility on the production floor and recognize production operators as customers of work performed by engineering.

Qualifications and Education (Required)

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required (Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering desired).
- Five (5) years or more of engineering/manufacturing experience required.
- Solid working knowledge of instrumentation and control systems preferred.
- Solid working knowledge of web handling principles preferred.
- Solid working knowledge of honeycomb core materials and characteristics preferred

Fluent in CATIA, AutoCAD and Creo preferred.

Extensive experience in process documentation.

Basic working knowledge of CNC machining processes and tools.

Basic MRP and estimating experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Acceptable vision test results (as applicable).
Physical Demands
