ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Instrumentation & Controls Engineer is responsible to manage and maintain existing control systems and develop and implement new projects to upgrade controls. Responsible for aspects of developing, managing, installing, and implementing assigned Capital and Major Maintenance Equipment projects in a heavy industrial Aluminum facility. In addition to capital and major maintenance projects, the I&C engineer will be responsible for providing troubleshooting support to maintenance and production to maintain safe operations. The engineer will be expected to work both in the office and on the plant floor, troubleshoot active problems and create and implement solutions. The I&C engineer is expected to be the subject matter expert for the facility in matters relating to the control systems.
The facility consists of a Remelt, Extrusion, Rolling and Finishing Department with associated equipment.
· Develop project scope, budget and schedule for Capital and Major Maintenance projects to be submitted for approval
· Ability to read, revise and create new PLC logic, HMI and SCADA programs, VFD parameters, plant floor networks (Ethernet, DeviceNet, HART, Modbus, etc)
· Manage and maintain existing plant camera system
· Manage technical support contractors and software licensing
· Supervise and manage outside contractors (both design and field construction), as necessary to complete project work
· Ability to read, revise and create new schematics (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, combustion, etc)
· Responsible for all aspects of assigned projects including scope development, evaluating vendor proposals and designs, managing budget and schedule
· Plan and manage the execution of projects, including testing, start up and integration into maintenance and operation processes
· Attention to detail to maintain accurate drawings, files, bill of materials, correct spare parts and equipment specifications
· Provide guidance for troubleshooting, modification, installation and commissioning of control and instrumentation systems and equipment in production facility
· Respond to any major occurrence of plant breakdown when required, carry out prompt inspection, analyze the fault, repair and re-commission affected plant and equipment so as to assure the minimum loss of production
· Support plant maintenance according to current maintenance processes
· Has a working knowledge of industry standards and regulations (NEC, IEEE, NFPA, OSHA, etc).
· Exceptional problem solving skills, using a logical and systematic approach, be able to explain the decision made Reduces MTTO (occurrence restoration), increases MTBO (between occurrences)
WORK ENVIRONMENT
· Approximately 70% of the job function is performed in an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. 3075% of the job function is required in the plant. There is exposure to hot metal, operating machinery and a manufacturing environment.

EDUCATION
· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics/Electrical Technology, Automation Engineering, Industrial Controls or related field, and a minimum of 5 years of managing projects in an industrial environment with electrical/plant floor controls experience. or 7 years of experience above.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
