JOB SCOPE
The Electrical Engineer will use engineering and manufacturing methodologies to further develop the product and process for manufacturing boats or yachts, in support of production and company goals. They are responsible for developing electrical devices and testing them for safety and efficiency. Their duties include managing the manufacturing process for new electrical equipment, using design software to produce schematics and overseeing the installation process of their designs.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Define requirements and component specifications for electrical panels, wiring harnesses and electrical systemss
· Generate engineering drawings for new designs and existing models and options Create and validate load calculations based on ABYC/ISO/CE standards for AC and DC electrical systems
· Provide technical expertise to project groups and ensure consistency between all electrical documentation, methods, and practices
· Supports manufacturing and customer service on issue resolution
· Design harness manufacturing boards for new and existing harnesses
· Perform incoming inspections on electrical components, panels, and harnesses as needed
· Install, test and troubleshoot AC/DC electrical circuits, components or systems to ensure proper operation as needed
· Utilize Lean Manufacturing tools and methodology to reduce waste and improve quality process controls
· Identify, attack, and improve bottlenecks by balancing work content for operators, stations, and production lines
· Work cross-functionally between production, engineering, and product development to reduce defects, improve product flow through the facility, and support new product launches.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· Three years of electrical engineering experience designing, implementing, and supporting production lines in a manufacturing environment is required.
· Boat manufacturing experience or knowledge
· Experience with reading and creating technical prints, Bill of materials; CAD experience required
· Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite required
· American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) and National Marine Manufacturer Association (NMMA) certifications needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
