The Project Engineer is responsible for all aspects of developing, managing, installing, and implementing assigned Capital and Major Maintenance Equipment Projects in a heavy industrial Aluminum facility. The facility consists of a Remelt, Extrusion, Rolling and Finishing Department with associated equipment.
Principal Accountabilities
- Implement improvements in manufacturing in areas of process stabilization, repeatability, quality, control, efficiencies of labor, rate improvement, operational downtime reduction and elimination of scrap and rework.
- Determine the feasibility of proposed project and recommends the structural, mechanical, electrical, operational or other requirements for senior management approval.
- Develop, execute and coordinate engineering projects to meet safety, quality, schedule, scope, and budget commitments
- Responsible for implementation of capital and cost design changes and trouble-shooting of plant issues.
- Participate in hazards analysis and scope development for capital projects.
- Evaluate vendor proposals and designs and exercise effective judgment around functionality, cost and timing.
- Develop supporting documentation and reports and submit reports and results to management and the business.
- Generate process flow, drawings, procedures and training documents to support manufacturing in the implementation of improvements.
- Order any and all materials needed for your assigned projects
- Proactively manage assigned projects from inception to completion (Cradle to Grave).
- Maintaining, documenting and upgrading of the current and newly established manufacturing process capabilities.
- Coordinates project construction daily.
- Ensure projects and documentation comply with all local, state and national requirements
- Supervise the installation of all Engineering projects pursuant to project requirements.
- Responsible for schedules, approvals, cost control, development of RFI's and functional descriptions, inspections, testing, start-up, training requirements for new installations including operating instructions and maintenance manuals.
- Coordinate and review contractor and vendor activity and interface with maintenance and production personnel as required insuring all Company standards are maintained.
- Review technology advancements and system improvements to provide a competitive advantage in the marketplace through continued education, seminars and trade shows.
- Collaborate with key site and corporate personnel during project design, construction and implementation of solutions that improve the function and efficiency of the operation.

Minimum education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field. Education desired: MS/MBA
Experience: 5-8 years of industrial engineering project management experience Excellent listening and communication skills. Strong aptitude to produce clear and concise written documents, as well as, strong verbal skills.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
