Job Title: Vehicle Controls Systems Engineer - Automotive
Department: Continuing Engineering
Reports To: Director of Continued Engineering and VP of Engineering
Location: HQ, Gilbert, AZ
Salary: $125,000 - $145,000 annual
Summary:
Support the Innovation, Pre-Production, Production and Service teams in development of our EV integration platforms. Must establish and maintain a long-term collaborative relationship between teams locally and in satellite facilities. Ensure that all requirements concerning testing activities and deadlines are met.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Optimizing proprietary wiring harness design, routing, connections, reduce cost, improve functionality, increase ease of assembly, manufacturing and large-scale production.

Knowledge of OEM electrical wiring and CAN, FlexRay, LIN networks and Gateways and Infotainment Systems (Ford F and E Series (Sync), Ram/Stellantis (Uconnect), Mercedes-Benz (MBUX), GM (MyLink) and Embedded Systems

Knowledge of HV – High Voltage Battery Electric Vehicle Propulsion Systems, inverters, motors, DCDC, contactors, isolation, cable shielding, battery management systems.

Assist with harness testing, identify areas of improvement, and define an action plan to improve the product and assembly processes.
- HV – High Voltage Safety, maintain a safe working environment and wear PPE

Design products using Siemens NX CAD and consult with Innovation, Engineering and Manufacturing teammates to ensure that designs are feasible and cost effective.

Draft multiple-view assembly, sub-assembly, and layout wiring harness and control system hardware drawings required for assembly. Create assembly drawings with proper instructions and create a pathway for setting up a drawing standard.

Develop reports for project milestones.

Create BOM (Bill of materials) and cost estimates for final product designs, and release reports to supervisors, incorporating costs of labor, material, delivery, and overhead

Record and evaluate alternate designs as necessary to bring them to safety, performance, and efficiency standards.

Ideal candidate will have experience in a “Product lifecycle management” environment to help manage drawing files, document control, and ensuring standards are met.

Qualifications:
5-7 Years Automotive Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics equivalent.
