Responsibilities:
· Design/Develop/Explore advanced manufacturing processes/machineries (i.e. CNC machining, sheet metal punching/bending/stamping, TIG/MIG/resistance welding, plastic injection & blow molding, electrical/electronic control assembly, sub-assembly, finished good final assembly) & associated robust jig/fixture/tooling/punch/die/ mold/programming to mfg components & products with Consistent Quality at Competitive Costs.
· Direct/Lead Mfg process & Quality engineers to develop & keep up detailed optimal Mfg setup plan, in-process quality control (IPQC) plan, functional gaging, metrology & inspection setup to assure all Mfg processes yield consistent quality with minimum DPMO.
· Lead Mfg process & Quality engineers to provide New Product Design Engineers with DFM (Design for Manufacturing) support from component design, sub-assembly design to final assembly design levels with:
§ Realistic 3-D features/geometries/structure to allow robust work holding & optimal Mfg tooling application;
§ Practical 2-D drawing GD&T to allow robust work holding & in-process quality gaging inspection.
· Lead next-generation Mfg processes investigation/design/development to assure mfg processes with long term global competitive advantages.
· Train Mfg process technicians/operators on due diligent in-process gaging/quality control, basic Mfg process trouble-shooting, basic machinery TPM, and Mfg tooling diagnosis/control/change/offset management.
· Lead production/maintenance to develop/enforce due diligent daily/weekly/quarterly/annually Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) for all Mfg equipment & jig/fixture/work-holding/tooling.
· Work with Production leaders to keep up Mfg equipment OEE (i.e. efficiency x quality x availability).
· Direct/lead site-level Lean-6σ Continuous Improvement & assure Total Customer Satisfaction.
Qualification:
· Minimum BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering related or equivalent Degree.
· Minimum 10 years of hands-on Manufacturing process development experience in mass production environment & proficiencies in at least one (& familiar with others) of below mfg processes: CNC steel/aluminum die casting machining, sheet metal CNC turret punch, press brake, hydraulic stamping, TIG/MIG/resistance welding, plastic injection molding & blow molding, electrical/electronic assembly, sub-assembly & final assembly mfg processes.
