Job Summary:
Manufacturing Engineer Plans, designs, arranges, changes, and optimizes a manufacturing process in an effort to achieve customer product and facility metric requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Document, develop, evaluate and improve methods required to stamp, fabricate, weld, wash/paint and assemble parts to meet customer and manufacturer quality requirements
- Identify operator methods that improve production rates and efficiencies
- Develop and implement process control techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments.
- Analyze manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughput.
- Collaborate with customer design engineering regarding product tooling and design to ensure effectual production methods.
- Participate in cross functional teams for timely, effective documented corrective action for internal and external quality issues
- Confer with suppliers in determining product specifications and arranging equipment, parts, or material purchase, and evaluating products according to quality standards and specifications.
- Assist in estimating staffing requirements, production times, and relative costs to provide data for operational decisions.
- ERP/MRP system data maintenance
- Work closely with manufacturing department to develop, coordinate, and implement technical training for employees.
- Design and develop manufacturing processes with the Launch team for enhancements, product changes, and new products, and related fixtures and tooling that are consistent with zero defect level and low product cost.
- Create and maintain accurate documentation of methods, tool drawings, design concepts, shop orders, and concepts in accordance with engineering and quality requirements.
- Providing engineering support in production department to trouble shoot and resolve technical problems.
- Specify new equipment, tooling, parts and participates in capital equipment budgeting and cost justification
- Support company policies and procedures, goals and objectives,
- Support DTMP production system requirements
- Support initiatives on customer certification programs
- Assume Project Management responsibility on major new projects as assigned
- Perform any and all other engineering assignments as directed
- Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications (Required)
- At least 18 years of age (required at all locations)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from accredited college
- 3 years in manufacturing industry
Job Qualifications (Preferred):
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred (all locations)
Physical Requirements of the Job:
- Frequent walking, standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting and lifting for 8-12 hours per day
- Able to frequently walk, stand, kneel, squat, bend, stoop, push, pull, twist and lift for 8-12 hours per day
- Able to work in non-climate-controlled and noisy environment
- Frequent overhead reaching and reaching with both hands
- Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting or maneuvering loads up to 50 lbs
- Able to wear and tolerate Personal Protective Equipment (apparel and devices)
- Vision acuity, corrected or uncorrected, capable of reading documents, blueprints, gauges, equipment settings, calibration instruments, parts labels and written materials
- Reliable to come to work every day and be on-time
- Flexible work availability, including Overtime during the week and weekends
