Boeing’s Missile Defense National Team is seeking motivated and talented Senior (Level 4), Senior Lead (Level 5) or Principal (Level 6) System Engineers in Huntsville, Alabama !
This Sr. System Performance Analysis Lead will be responsible for Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Missile Defense System (MDS) modeling and simulation (M&S) and analyses tasks to develop MDS performance requirements. Ultimately, the modeling and simulation tasks will drive end-to-end predictive performance analysis of the MDS against evolving threats of current and future missile defense systems.
These tasks and responsibilities will be conducted in a model-based systems engineering (MBSE) environment.
Primary Responsibilities :Primary duties may include (but are not limited to):
Develop, maintain, and integrate specialized MDS mathematical-based modeling and simulation (M&S).
Analyze M&S results to define, verify, and validate MDS performance requirements.
Lead teams of analysts in the development, benchmarking/anchoring, updating, and maintenance of M&S tools to support the system analyses and integrated system requirement development.
Review analysis plans, execution, and products to ensure quality.
Summarize, document, and present analyses and technical concepts.
Conduct technical meetings with government and industry subject matter experts to analyze and formulate performance and functional requirements for system-of-system level specifications.
Utilization of MBSE tools such as DOORS, System Architect, and mathematical M&S to provide thought leadership and system requirement definition.
Think critically and lead efforts to solve complex missile defense problems.

This position may require the ability to obtain access to an MDA facility. Access to the facility requires a background investigation by U.S. government authorities.

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance . (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience) :
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
Experience using MATLAB or similar language environment to develop analytical tools or perform numerical modeling of complex systems
4+ years of experience developing requirements for systems engineering processes
Active DOD Secret (or higher) clearance
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) :
9+ years of higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.)
Demonstrated experience modeling or simulating missile defense applications or systems in similar domains (air combat, air defense, intercept of ballistic targets, intercept of non-ballistic targets, space vehicles, sub-orbital mechanics, etc.
Knowledge of ballistic and advanced threat systems (e.g. aero-maneuvering, hypersonic, hyper-glide, countermeasures, etc.)
Modeling and analysis experience in aspects of the missile defense system (eg., Aegis Weapons Systems, Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Glide Phase Intercept (GPI), Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor (HBTSS), Fire Control, C2BMC, MDS sensors (EO/IR/RF), kill vehicles, interceptors, countermeasures, etc.)
Experience building and using M&S analysis tools for missile systems or sub-systems such as: EO/IR sensors, RF/radar systems, kill vehicles, missiles/interceptors, threats/countermeasures, target discrimination, or command/control.
Experience leading technical teams.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Systems engineering experience with large, complex systems.
MBSE tools and process experience.
Typical Education/Experience :
Senior (Level 4)
Bachelor's degree and typically 9 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 7 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years' experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Senior Lead (Level 5)
Bachelor's degree typically 14 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 12 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 9 or more years' experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Principal (Level 6)
Bachelor's degree and typically 20 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 18 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 15 or more years' experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Summary pay range for Senior (Level 4): $119,850 – $162,150
Summary pay range Senior Lead (Level 5): $147,050 – $198,950
Summary pay range for Principal (Level 6): $174,250 – $235,750
