Barnes Aerospace, Ogden Division has an exciting career opportunity for a dynamic self-motivated individual as a Program Manager. This position will provide engineering support to manufacturing with a focus on our B2 exhaust program. The ideal candidate will bring an arsenal of tools and experience to effectively drive the program to meet the company and customer objectives.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate new product introduction activities within the site working with the various cross-functional new product introduction teams
- Responsible for delivering the new product introduction projects on schedule, within budget and with quality performance
- Effectively manage customer projects through their life cycle: initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing
- Establish and implement project plans that achieve the overall current and long-term objectives of the business unit and division, and meet program schedules
- Implement hierarchical review structures to status work in process, monitor leading indicators, and develop work-around options within the given trade-space of programs/portfolios
- Primary communicator of project status horizontally and vertically throughout the organization
- Provide direction to achieve project financial performance metrics, including program sales, P&L, inventory levels, etc. Must have experience with New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Assist in the management of Customer contracts including achievement, compliance, and communication of contractual requirements to the appropriate functional areas of the organization, holding Customer and Barnes Aerospace performance to these requirements
- Provide technical manufacturing support to drive a robust manufacturing process capable of rate and repeatability.
- Generate and update work center instructions, review customer and internal specifications to ensure criteria are met, establish process controls.
- Support the development of major project proposals by assisting in the development of robust project plans utilizing core project management methodology
- Coach and mentor the project teams on project management methodology and best practices
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years program or project management experience required in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Aerospace
- 3 to 5 years Manufacturing Engineering experience
- Strong leadership and people engagement skills leading by example
- Develops effective working relationships which foster integrity, trust, and respect.
- Understanding of business financials, terms, concepts, and strategies
- Lean or Six Sigma certification a plus
- Excellent computer and data analysis skills. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products
- Strong Earned Value Management skills and experience managing a program to cost, schedule, and technical performance
- Strong understanding of inter-relationships of business management disciplines, finance, engineering, production, and program management
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering required. MS or MBA preferred. PMP or PgMP certification preferred
