RFA Engineering (www.rfamec.com) is seeking a Hydraulic Design Engineer for supporting Current Product Improvement projects and supporting New Product programs. This position will be a full-time RFA employee onsite at the client's facility in Brooklyn Park, MN and part of the team that supports the design of paving processing equipment.
Description
Working in the Product Engineering department, you will solve problems and implement improvements related to hydraulics systems on equipment such as cold planers and rotary mixers. This will be a mixture of office and R&D/testing. A hybrid (office/home) schedule is at the discretion of the client and not necessarily expected for this position. Out of the office activities will be interacting with test engineers, mechanics, and other personnel to reach the project goals and do not include phsyical labor. Possible activities include but are not limited to;

Managing Current Product Improvement projects both existing and to be identified. These range from issues/ideas in production to performance/reliability improvements.

To achieve goals, the engineer may specify and/or determine new hydraulic components, work with suppliers, and make recommendations on how to improve the performance/reliability of hydraulic systems.

Work will generally be under or in collaboration with the clients Hydraulics Technical Lead but independent thinking, recommendations, and following of sound design principles are expected.

Working with Test Engineers and the R&D department will require definition of the goals of the activities, developing the plans for what needs to be completed, creating or writing instructions for the R&D personnel for rework or implementation, documenting results of tests, and making recommendations based on results of the efforts.

Requirements

BS in Mechanical or Systems Engineering from an accredited engineering program

Hydraulics experience
-
Ability to work with cross functional teams.
- Experience in Continuous Improvement a plus

Experience with CAD, but these tools are a plus: Siemens Teamcenter and PTC CREO 4 or 7
