We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Plant Engineer. This role is based in our facility in Lawton and reports to the Plant Manager.
Job Summary
We are looking for a multifaceted Plant Engineer to join our engineering team at our Lawton, OK location. The Plant Engineer will be preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and supervising the assigned engineering projects. The selected candidate will work on various projects involving close collaboration with many departments such as operations, maintenance, quality control, health and safety, logistics, etc. The project work will be at our Lawton location and other locations in the USA. This person may set up equipment operation feed, speed and temperature. Follows established procedures for operating various conventional and/or CNC (computerized numerical control) manufacturing equipment for tasks such as cutting, punching, forming, drilling, tapping, turning, milling and stamping to fabricate, form or shape manufactured parts, tools or parts assemblies from raw materials. Selects and measures raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing. Resolves issues related to the organization's production, machinery, processing and/or packaging operations.
Principal Responsibilities
- Define needs and requirements of the clients and help in explaining projects.
- Prepare specifications and scope of work.
- Lead project specific materials and equipment purchases. Meet with suppliers, analyze proposals and make recommendations on the solution choices.
- Responsible for various modifications to facilities, equipment and buildings
- Plan and own the installation and commissioning phases in our plants, distribution centers and offices, while ensuring that the corporate health and safety standards are observed.
- Ensure the quality, safety and conformity of work and equipment, before and after delivery and installation.
- Follow the financial situation budget of the projects. and help in justifying projects.
- Provide required close out information to the client at the end of the project (warranty, drawings, updates plant layout).
- Assist in the continuous improvement of the methods of the Project Engineering Department.
- Attend process improvement projects
- Participate in the equipment purchasing process. Meet with suppliers, analyze proposals and make recommendations on the solution choices.
- Analyze problems and opportunities
- Find and define the best solutions to implement
- Act as an agent of change in the department and the plants
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- 5 years of progressive experience in engineering and project management, in a manufacturing environment or in a related field.
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering
- Registered Professional Engineer.
- Hold a valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of extrusion and plastic molding equipment would be an asset.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently, with strong skills in personal motivation
- Excellent skills in leading internal and external teams and customer relationships
- Strong organizational skills.
- Capacity to learn in a changing and technological environment.
- Skilled communicator, with positive relationship values.
- General knowledge of mechanical concepts, pneumatics and hydraulics.
