Eaton’s Aerospace Division is currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Jackson, MI facility.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $77249.97 - $113299.96 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

Primary Function
Key member within a cross functional team. Responsible for leading manufacturing engineering activities related to new product development and transitions associated with the Jackson, MI plant. Coordinate the development and support of new hardware manufacturing utilizing both new and existing equipment, techniques, and processes. Support concurrent engineering initiatives by working directly with design engineering, production, and customer teams. Mentor others in manufacturing engineering competencies and production processes.
Essential Functions

Collaborate with focus factory High Performance Work Teams to troubleshoot processes and support on-time delivery of new program hardware.

Assess suspect hardware for conformance to required specifications, generate rework instructions, participate in structured problem-solving activities (8Ds), and implement corrective actions to continuously improve production processes.

Subject matter expert in development of work instructions to clearly define required manufacturing processes.

Provide manufacturing recommendations during product ideation and DFMEA efforts. Perform manufacturability reviews of assigned product drawings prior to introduction within the production process.

Design, model, and draft tooling, gauging, and equipment required to support hardware deliveries with correct drafting and GD&T practices utilizing Catia.

Propose, justify, and track capital expenditures associated with new product development. Work with suppliers and procurement team to purchase equipment, tooling, gauging, and supplies as required.

Support manufacturing deliverables and project advancement through a structured management approach (AGILE / PROLaunch).

Leads product development activities for assigned manufacturing scopes including PFMEA creation, risk assessments, should cost analysis, DFM reviews, etc...

Comfortably manage multiple manufacturing programs at one time. Strategically delegates tasks to extended team members to provide growth opportunities for peers, align to manufacturing priorities, and meet communicated customer/project deliverables

Assess, manage, and implement (MCOs) process changes to existing manufacturing processes associated with new product development.

Design, execute, and document (MTRs) manufacturing related experiments to quantify process behavior, capability, etc.
Required/Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited institution.

Four (4) or more years of experience within a related engineering function.

No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of the Jackson, MI facility will be considered

Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Eng., Industrial Eng., or equivalent 4 year degree in manufacturing/process related field
Product/Process development experience in the Aerospace Industry
Experience determining Manufacturing Strategy and Capital/Capacity Planning
Broad manufacturing experience base. Familiar with manufacturing processes adjacent to those found within the basic qualifications
Experienced with AIAG or equivalent tools for Measurement System Analysis, Capability Analysis, SPC, FMEA, and PPAP
Proficient with frequently used software; Catia, MFG Pro, MES, Enovia, and Microsoft Office Project
Must be proficient with the proper application of GD&T standard ASME-Y14.5
Process expertise in at least one (1) and familiarity with at least another three (3) of the following areas: additive manufacturing, machining, forming, welding, heat treatment, acceptance testing, assembly
Proficient with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
Ability to professionally communicate effectively with internal customers at all levels of the organization, and external customers in support of FED division initiatives
Experienced with PFMEA, DFM, and DFMA activities
Strong project and time management, organizational, and analytical skills.
